As a tradition, the NBA showcases their star players within the league by hosting a weekend event titled the All-Star Weekend. Every year in February the event takes place in different cities and in 1995 the weekend-long celebration took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Honoring its 45th edition, the game’s star line-up included icons such as Shaquille O’Neal (Orlando Magic), Scottie Pippen (Chicago Bulls), Shawn Kemp (Seattle SuperSonics), Charles Barkley (Phoenix Suns), and Patrick Ewing (New York Knicks). 

During this weekend they also highlight the rookies who are only beginning their journey within the NBA. They are split into two teams, Green vs White, and play to show off their skills and talents. The rookie roster during this year included Jalen Rose and Jason Kidd who eventually became basketball legends. The White team celebrated victory winning 83-79 during overtime. But what blew fans away was Eddie Jones, a rookie playing for the Los Angeles Lakers who scored 25 points during the game becoming the highest scorer.
