Jensen started Tom Wood in 2013 after leaving her successful career as a marketer to create a high-end jewelry line. Jensen describes her decision to use the alter ego as, “it was nice to hide behind a strong imagined man and to build the brand around a character that was not myself.” Tom Wood is known for its unisex, minimalistic jewelry that can be described as functional, classic and modern. The brand pulls inspiration from colors and shapes that are found in nature and in vintage objects, as well as Scandinavian functionalism. Tom Wood mostly uses silver, as it is soft in nature and therefore earn scratches and marks that will help tell a unique story. In 2016, Tom Wood branched out from jewelry and introduced a ready-to-wear line and other accessories such as sunglasses.
