Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Neutral Grey’ Release June 24th

Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Neutral Grey’ Release June 24th

Chelsie Rendon

The Air Jordan 1 was initially conceptualized for Michael Jordan but became a spectacle as it was adopted all over the world. It’s been over 35 years since Michael Jordan stepped onto the hardwood floors in the ‘Bred’ colorway and the sneaker is still just as popular. Created by Peter Moore, the AJ1 has been a part of many footwear lineups as its signature colorways and comfortable fit have outlasted trends and the trial of times. In addition to the high top, a low top was introduced within the same year coinciding with the OG color palettes. Ever since the reintroduction of the Air Jordan 1 High 85 ‘Neutral Grey’ in February, many have been anxiously awaiting upcoming releases that coincide with predecessors. The ‘Neutral Grey’ High made a legendary release during the beginning of 2021 as it was the first time it made an appearance since its initial debut in 1985. The High was highly anticipated as only 23,000 pairs were made, making them extremely exclusive. Grab a closer look at an unboxing of the sneaker, here. Just in time for summer, Jordan Brand takes cues from the High by reviving one of the original low silhouettes.

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Neutral Grey’ makes its return June 24th in both men and women sizing.

Diverging from the original sneaker, the latest design opts for a more dimensional and textured experience. The sneaker includes suede overlays instead of the traditional synthetic leather designs as seen with the original ‘85 and 2015 Europe-exclusive releases. The overall look and shape of the sneaker emulates the original silhouette including the Nike Air branding on the tongue that replaced the modern Jumpman logo. A smooth leather base offers a crisp finish while intricately placed perforated holes are designed at the toe box for enhanced airflow during times of wear. Its monochromatic style comes complete with a matching rubber outsole and Nike’s Air technology within the midsole. Air cushioning is an integral part of the signature Jordans as its technology offers undeniable comfort which elevates its responsiveness by combating different terrains.

Transition from your Highs to your Lows with the Air Jordans as its signature cut is applicable to every outfit. Its monochromatic and clean style is the perfect light palette for the summer heat.
