Headwear brand New Era was first brought onto the scene in 1920 and has remained a cultural icon throughout each generation and decade within various subcultures besides athletes, hip-hop artists, graffiti artists, and more. New Era was established by hatmaker Ehrhardt Koch, who had established the American headwear company in order to continue displaying his love of crafting high-quality headwear for all. The headwear brand became the official headwear brand of the MLB in 1993 right after producing the first professional baseball cap for the Cleveland Guardians. New Era’s iconic silhouettes, such as the 59FIFTY Fitted, have spotlighted iconic MLB teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, and more.
We at FEATURE joined alongside New Era back in 2018, and this collaboration has continued to bring a selection of must-have headwear capsules, all of which are presented on the iconic 59FIFTY Fitted silhouettes. These collaborations include FEATURE x New Era ‘Opal,’ FEATURE x New Era ‘Golden Hour,’ and our latest collaboration: FEATURE x New Era ‘Northern Lights.’
Spotlighting an array of iconic MLB teams, the FEATURE x New Era ‘Northern Lights’ 59FIFTY Fitted silhouette makes an impression in any headwear rotation. Inspired by the captivating Northern Lights, the polyester-crafted silhouette is fitted, including woven eyelets at the crown for a breathable touch. At the face of the hat is an embroidered team logo that includes reflective components. Embroidered patchwork resides on the wearer’s right side, treated with similar reflective components. An embroidered New Era flag resides at the left side, while an MLB Batterman is embroidered at the rear for additional detailing. The flat brim is treated with a contrasting undervisor for additional dimension. The exclusive silhouette is finished with an exclusive three-pack of pins. Also inspired by the Northern Lights, the pins spotlight reflective detailing when light is shined upon them.
