Inspired by DJ Culture, the Puma Mirage Mox Releases Saturday 12/5
Marissa Villamor
In the 1970s, Puma first releases the Mirage OG silhouette that was a traditional track and field shoes. Throughout the decades, the silhouette was reissued as a jogging shoe in the 90s. Fast forward to today, the silhouette can be seen as a lifestyle shoe that focuses on adding new and fresh takes on the classic runner.
Today, Puma invites us to take a look at things with a new perspective through the territory of music culture and to enter the universe of EDM. Like the Mirage, Electric Dance Music also found its roots in the 70s and has evolved over the years, just like the sneaker. The widely popular world of DJ culture brings a new perspective to the Mirage silhouette that focuses on a movement of positivity and non-judgment.
Taking this idea as inspiration, the Mirage Mox silhouette sees bright colors, eye-catching layers of materials and new futuristic elements. The silhouette features a mesh grey upper with nubuck and suede overlays in different shades of pink and blue. Other details include an EVA midsole of lightweight cushioning, a rubber outsole and TPU pieces at the midsole and heel.
