New Hoka Running Shoe Arrivals

Haven Neiman

When Jean-Luc Diard and Nicole Mermoud noticed that their passion for running wasn’t good for their legs, the duo took this and quite literally ran with it, when they decided to create a new type of shoe, specifically one that provided them optimal momentum and cushioning in addition to improving their race time. The two French Alps residents quickly started crafting these shoes, and when word got out, others wanted the shoes too.

The trail running enthusiasts officially established HOKA, or Hoka One One, in 2009 when they first introduced the running shoe. HOKA aims to inspire people to move and empower athletes by providing them with optimal running, walking, and overall athletic shoes that are comfortable while approaching athletics from a problem-solving perspective. To HOKA, everyone is an athlete.

HOKA running shoes are known for their oversized midsoles and shoes with enhanced cushioning and a meticulously engineered midsole that provides a smooth, soft, and efficient ride. At the same time, additional attributes include its shock absorption and varying degrees of thickness that are both responsive and balanced. HOKA's sneakers feature a Meta-Rocker, designed to move runners forward. Each HOKA sneaker's Meta-Rocker geometry complements the natural gait cycle and reduces the height differences between the heel and toe. Additional technologically-advanced components that set HOKA athletic sneakers apart from the standard athletic shoe are its Profly cushioning, J-Frame, carbon fiber plate, and Hubble Heel, which provides effortlessly smooth transitions designed to limit the harsh impact on the body and enhance durability.

With that, Hoka introduces its latest silhouette arrivals—the Bondi 8 and Clifton 9. Also arriving in unique spring-inspired shades like Pale Mauve/Peach Whip and Shifting Sand/Eggnog, these shoes are ideal for anyone looking to upgrade their athletic sneaker rotation.

The HOKA Clifton 9 takes on a premium engineered knit upper secured by recycled polyester laces. The gusseted tongue adds additional comfort, while the compression-molded EVA foam midsole paired with the early-stage Meta-Rocker makes a comfortable and technologically-advanced statement. The durabrasion rubber outsole provides a durable finish. The HOKA Bondi 8 is another must-have with its heel pull tab and memory foam collar provided for added comfort. The resilient foam construction offers optimal comfort with each step, while the rear crash pad and zonal rubber placement consider a durable aesthetic. The silhouette is finished with an engineered mesh upper and gusseted tongue.
