The imitable Nike Dunk Low has gone from being a classic skateboarding and basketball shoe to one of the most popular and sought-after lifestyle sneakers in the world. Designed by iconic sneaker designer Peter Moore over 37 years ago in 1985, the sneaker’s origins go all the way back to being a go-to basketball sneaker shortly after its initial introduction. Its ‘High’ counterpart was introduced a year later. But by the time the ‘90s rolled around, the skateboarding community had adopted the silhouette. After that stint, the then-skate sneaker went behind the scenes up until 2019 when Off-White chose to collaborate with Nike on the vintage silhouette. Since then, along with its default stars of collaborations, special editions, and redesigns with icons like Travis Scott, the sneaker has grown to amass legendary popularity.
First released in March of 2021, the Nike Dunk High ‘Panda’ Black/White colorway was a huge success and quickly became a staple Dunk silhouette that became a staple in collections worldwide. This black-and-white high-top iteration of the premium sneaker has become one of the most coveted colorways to exist and is primarily known as the easiest shoe to match in the entire Dunk repertoire. Its simple design incorporates sleek finishing touches paired with clean lines that make it stand out from its competitors. It features a smooth leather upper combined with additional leather overlays that wrap around the toe and heel. Nike branding is seen at the tongue tag and heel tab, while additional Swoosh branding makes a statement at the lateral side of the sneaker, spreading towards the heel tab. The high-cut silhouette includes a perforated toe box for added breathability, while the rubber outsole treated with herringbone-traction rounds out the remainder of the iconic sneaker.
