DUNK HIGH ‘FLASH LIME’ 

Nike and Ambush ignited their partnership in 2018 and since then they have cultivated a following that is extremely loyal to the duo’s designs. Ambush came on Nike’s radar after becoming an LVMH Prize Finalist in 2017. After this event, Yoon Ahn was invited to the headquarters where she would begin her lasting relationship with Nike. Yoon Ahn was born in South Korea and grew up in the United States. Here, she would attend college in Boston and meet her husband, Verbal. Together, they would introduce Ambush to the public and become a prominent name within fashion’s history. Since its inception in 2008, Ambush has collaborated with Louis Vuitton, Gentle Monsters, and other notable names. Celebrities such as Pharrell and Rhianna can also be seen wearing the latest designs from the fashion label. 

Ambush has garnered a lot of traction recently as more collections have been released in partnership with Nike. Tokyo-inspired designs are perfectly paired with Nike’s functional elements for a captivating finish. Their first project included a reimagined version of the iconic Air Max 180 but most recently they have come together to introduce a modern take on the signature Dunk High. This summer the Dunk takes on a neon overlay titled, ‘Flash Lime.’ The bold color truly stands out as a black Swoosh is embossed on the side panels. Its signature exaggerated design is emphasized as the emblem sticks out at the collar. Similar to the ‘Cosmic Fuschia’ and ‘Deep Royal’ colorway, the latest version includes a branded heel clip that not only looks good but offers stability with each step. The sneaker features a padded high-top collar and a monochromatic lace design for added security. Perforated details are placed at the toe box for enhanced comfort which coincides with the cushioned midsole. 

In addition to the sneaker, coinciding apparel is introduced within this release. Yoon Ahn wanted to reimagine traditional motorcyclist gear and give it a functional design that can be worn in a variety of settings. Its bold hues of purple and green pair nicely with the sneaker while deep black details perfectly accent the base. The NRG Ambush Moto Jacket is a stand-out piece within the collection as a nylon fabric is detailed with rib-knit stitching and color block paneling. This could then be paired with either the Vest, Crop Top, or the AW 84 Cap. All following a ‘Magic Flamingo’ palette, the designs are for both performance and style.
