Nike Dunk Low Women's 'Team Red and White' Release April 21th

Haven Neiman

First introduced in 1985 as a basketball sneaker, the Nike Dunk Low ‘Team Red and White’ made an impression with its simplistic color-blocking aesthetic while unifying pop culture, fashion, music, and art concepts. The Nike Dunk Low was the first release during the golden age of basketball, while legends such as Michael Jordan were on the court. The sneaker quickly became a household silhouette and was marketed toward some of the best college basketball teams. This was done through the ‘Be True to Your School’ Pack, spotlighting the following college teams: The University of Iowa, the University of Kentucky, the University of Michigan, Georgetown, St. John’s, UNLV, and Syracuse. The Nike Dunk’s legacy is nothing short of tumultuous, as the sneaker’s most recent revival has been prevalent over the past few years.

"A sneaker icon."

After a dormant period during the ‘90s and early 2000s, the Nike Dunk Low’s revival has made an impression in recent years, and Nike has made sure to introduce a plethora of iterations that are must-haves for any sneaker fan. The latest iteration, ‘Team Red and White,’ is a women’s exclusive. This premium sneaker arrives with a perfectly-aged aesthetic, seen in its premium leather upper that has been treated with natural variations for optimal everyday sophistication. The aged Coconut Milk rubber outsole takes on a vintage aesthetic, while the Nike branding at the tongue, insole, and heel makes a statement. The perforated toe box and foam midsole wrap up the remainder of the sneaker.
