Slipstream Lo

By representing speed, strength, agility, and endurance—PUMA has established itself as an iconic sportswear and sneaker lifestyle brand that has paved the way for future endeavors alike. Puma was put into fruition in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler to provide premium athleisure footwear, apparel, and more. The label is known for its iconic Puma logo paired with the Puma Formstrip. Puma has since grown into one of the most recognizable and iconic sportswear brands in the industry, having collaborated with renowned designers and brands to bring sports influences into street culture and fashion.

First born in 1987 as a basketball shoe, the Puma Slipstream silhouette was brought onto the scene as a successor to Puma’s SKY IX model. Favored by basketball players on the court for its performance, stability, and overall comfortable aesthetic, the sneaker eventually began to make its way off the court and into communities worldwide, primarily with sneaker fans and hip-hip subcultures. The Puma Slipstream Lo came equipped with a revolutionary Anti-Shock System and was initially sold as a college basketball shoe to match the respective schools’ colors. The design continued to grow in popularity and still maintains its relevant ‘80s-inspiration today. By staying true to its ‘80s basketball heritage, the Puma Slipstream Lo has been reintroduced in a modern design for a refreshed version of its iconic aesthetic.

The Puma Slipstream Lo Retro features a crisp leather upper and spotlights additional suede detailing seen at the toe box and rear. While still taking on the ‘80s aeshtetic, the silhouette also features premium perforated detailing at the toe box for a breathable touch. Printed Puma Slipstream branding appears at the sides, colliding with the woven tongue label. An iconic Puma makes an appearance at the heel. The cushioned midsole offers optimal comfort with each step, while the chunky rubber outsole underneath contributes to its durable aesthetic. With the Slipstream Lo Block, the ‘80s inspiration continues with the design as it includes a blend of nubuck leather and suede within the upper. Similar Puma Slipstream branding is seen along with additional Puma motif imagery. The comfortable midsole paired with the rubber outsole provides a durable finish, completing the overall look.
