Golden Goose was founded in Italy in 2000 by two young Venetian designers, Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo. The name is derived from Aesop’s tale “The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs” and its association with luck. Golden Goose prides itself on Italian craftsmanship and offers a range of premium footwear.
Golden Goose pulls inspiration from west coast skateboarding combined with a refined and modern look of Italian craftsmanship. Well known for their footwear, Golden Goose embodies an intersection between modern style with vintage detailing and feel. The sneakers embody the Japanese concept known as “kintsukuroi” which is the idea that objects look better with more wear and tear to them. Golden Goose sneakers come fresh out of the box brand new but look vintage and worn-in.
Golden Goose has gained notable popularity since its launch and can be seen worn on the feet of a variety of high-profile celebrities including Shia Labeouf, Kid Cudi and A$AP Rocky. They are most well-known for their iconic Superstar sneaker model which was first introduced in 2007.
