Helmut Lang
Helmut Lang
Helmut Lang was created by Austrian fashion designer, Helmut Lang, in 1986. Helmut Lang was a pioneer in the fashion industry and was one of the first designers to merge streetwear style with high fashion apparel.
Helmut Lang focuses on providing clean lines and premium materials and can be described as quintessential minimalistic. The avant-garde brand is known for its tailored garments, flat-front pants and low-rise jeans. From 1999 to 2006, Prada owned 51% off the company and later on in 2005, Helmut Lang left his own label. In 2017 the brand did a relaunch and went back to their original logo and re-introduced “Helmut Lang Re-Edition” where they showcased their past staple pieces.
Lang’s minimalist approach and influence can be seen trickled down into the works of Calvin Klein, Raf Simons and even Kanye West. Today the brand still showcases an urban style marked by clean lines and high-quality materials.
