Homma decided on the name Mastermind as it shared his initials and had a complex definition. Without a formal fashion education, Homma launched his brand during Tokyo’s Fashion Week solidifying Mastermind JAPAN’s stance within the fashion industry. Each item is proudly made in Japan and can be easily recognized with its signature motifs: the skull and crossbones logo. This grunge approach created a cult-like following that became heavily invested and loyal to the brand. The fashion label tends to combine luxurious aesthetics with streetwear designs, creating an unmistakable style. The use of punk graphics and premium materials are displayed throughout each collection, making Mastermind JAPAN one of a kind.  Since its inception, Mastermind JAPAN has been worn by notable figures including ASAP Rocky and Justin Timberlake. Brand’s including Stussy, Anti-Social Social Club, Adidas, and Carhartt have worked closely with Mastermind JAPAN creating exclusive designs and collections.
