This week's 'Feature'd Album of the Week' showcases Toronto-based singer and producer PARTYNEXTDOOR and his 'PARTYNEXTDOOR' EP. Released in 2013 through OVO sound, the record offers a blend of an R&B singer’s melodic finesse with the percussive wordplay of a rapper. The album speaks on strippers and drugs, as the narrator navigates a succession of dimly lit clubs and private afterparties with devilish gusto. PARTYNEXTDOOR abounds with homespun beats that turn radio rap tropes inside out. His melodic tone gives the record a different sound similar to the sound of The Weeknd and Drake's latest records.
