Feature'd Album Of The Week: Schoolboy Q 'Blank Face'

Kevin Sanchez

This week's 'Feature'd Album of the Week' showcases Schoolboy Q, and his fourth studio project, 'Blank Face'. The album released last week as his second project to be released under a major record label to music retailers, following 2014's OxymoronThrough 17 tracks of gangster rap, the Los Angeles native joins forces with several prominent artists, such as Kanye West, Jadakiss, Tha Dogg Pound and Miguel. Q's verses are comparable to Kendrick’s reflections on good kid, m.A.A.d city, with Q recounting his youth on songs like 'Groovy Tony' and 'John Muir'. Production from Cardo, The Alchemist, Metro Boomin, and Southside among others forms a strong case for Blank Face as Q’s most labored-over album without ever falling apart.
