WTF! Happened: The Fugees
4
Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel made up the legendary hip hop group, The Fugees. Their rise to fame occurred during the 1990's with their first LP album Blunted On Reality that was released in 1994. With some success within that album, their music included a hip hop and reggae tone with political intentions. In 1996, they released a second album entitled The Score which included a number of classics featuring "Killing me Softly", "Ready or Not" and "Fu-Gee-La" to name a few. The Score was one of the biggest hip hop albums in that time and was one of the best selling hip hop albums of all time. In 1997 the group went another route and disbanded which led to individually starting solo projects. Lauryn Hill inherited some success with her debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Wyclef Jean became head of the Yele Haiti Foundation and has collaborated with many other artists in the industry. Pres Michel took the filming route and recorded the documentary, "Skid Row". Although the group has parted ways, their music lives on today with their legendary style.
