‘Pine Green’

As one of the most popular Air Jordan models ever, the Air Jordan 3 was first introduced in 1994. Its mix of unexpected stance, shape, and details allowed it to stand out from its previous Jordan models. Iconic sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield joined Nike as a sneaker designer right as the Air Jordan 3 was in the works, and ended up listening to Michael Jordan’s desires for a sneaker that featured a mid-cut high as well as a comfortable and sophisticated design that still embodied flash and sophistication throughout its design. The iconic elephant print Jordan requested was also featured throughout the sneaker, which turned out to be an iconic component of this legendary silhouette. First worn by Michael Jordan during the 1988 NBA All-Star Game, once the sneaker was released, it set the stage for iconic sneaker silhouettes. That all-star game, along with the series of commercials released with a young Spike Lee and other print ads, created a long-lasting impact for the Jordan brand.

The sneaker made its first debut by Michael Jordan in 1988 when he won his second slam dunk contest wearing the iconic ‘White Cement’ Colorway. Along with White Cement, ‘Black Cement’ came out as well. During the 1988 playoffs, Jordan switched from Black Cement to the ‘Fire Red’ colorway throughout the 1988-1989 season. Over the years, the Air Jordan 3 has been modified with the classic colorways and received a retro modification.

The latest Air Jordan 3 Retro model seen in the ‘Pine Green’ colorway features the signature Jumpman logo at the tongue and the elephant print placed subtly throughout the exterior. A perforated collar and molded eyelets are featured, while a leather and suede upper comprise the surface. In addition to signature nubuck detailing, the ‘Pine Green’ colorway appears throughout the collars, liners, Jumpman logos, and midsole. A white polyurethane midsole and visible Airsole cushioning underneath the silhouette complete the look.
