Luxury Footwear from Lanvin
Haven Neiman
Established in 1889 by legendary fashion designer Jeanne Lanvin Miller, what started as a small hat shop in Paris has since grown into a full-fledged fashion label that has expanded into all areas of the industry in its over 130 years of business. By pulling inspiration from the 50s-70s eras, the Parisian label focuses primarily on its menswear line and luxury footwear. Lanvin’s current creative director Bruno Sialelli is the face of the brand and has a hand in the mixing of the brand’s soft tailoring, bold patterns, vibrant colors, and heavy layering. Lanvin is one of the oldest French fashion houses in the world and has transformed and embraced a series of generational trend shifts. Brands such as Dior, Balenciaga, Chanel, Fendi, Gucci, Hermès, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, and more are comparable to Lanvin’s luxurious and elevated aesthetics. Lanvin also emphasizes clean detailing seen in its prominent ready-to-wear apparel and accessories line, which includes sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, scarves, and more.
The couture label introduces its latest array of footwear arrivals. New variations of the signature Curb Sneaker have arrived, such as the Lurex Curb Sneakers presented in a Fluorescent Pink colorway. Composed of premium lurex material within the upper, this exaggerated footwear silhouette offered by the haute couture house takes on a confident aesthetic with its additional blend of nappa calfskin, suede, and mesh materials. The elaborately constructed shoe stands out from its competitors thanks to its rounded shape, padded tongue, and curved metallic eyelets. Additionally, the exaggerated quilted tongue is treated with a signature Lanvin label that coincides with an elevated and embossed Mother and Child logo. Additional spotlighting is provided by the double waxed and woven herringbone laces. The rubber outsole underneath protects and finishes the remainder of the must-have footwear silhouette.
Within Lanvin’s new arrivals are the Lanvin x Suicoke Sandals. This unique take on a pair of Suicoke sandals intertwines Lanvin’s luxurious French aesthetics with the Japanese inspiration offered by Suicoke. The silhouette references the iconic Curb herringbone laces and bold color combinations seen at the two adjustable velcro straps. The platform slip-on sandals are also treated with an embroidered co-branded label at the straps. The rubber outsole underneath offers durability, while the embossed branding at the footbed rounds out the design. For another sneaker option, the new Lanvin Glen Leather & Suede Low Top Sneaker is a premium sneaker that elevates any footwear rotation. Composed of luxurious leather and suede in the upper, the design spotlights a lace-up front that pairs seamlessly with the leather heel tab. JL logos are seen printed on the sides.
