Nike Footwear Must-Haves

Nike Footwear Must-Haves

Haven Neiman

Originally given the name ‘Blue Ribbon Sports,’ Nike’s imitable legacy started in 1964 when Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight joined together to establish the sportswear company. The duo founded the company in Beaverton, Oregon, which is where its headquarters still currently resides. Nike is proudly recognized and represented by its iconic ‘Just Do It’ slogan, and its name in its entirety is inspired by Nike, the Greek goddess of victory.

Before Nike expanded its portfolio by providing some of the highest quality activewear and leisure apparel in the fashion industry, it all started by introducing its technologically-advanced athletic footwear. The lifestyle brand’s sneakers started off with iconic silhouettes such as the Nike Dunk, Nike Air Max, Nike Blazer, and more. All of these utilized and continue to expand on the company’s iconic Nike Air technology, which provides the utmost comfort and performance that no other athletic sneaker can compare to. With that, Nike’s latest arrivals include classic styles paired with new silhouettes and colorways that are a must-have for any Nike sneaker collection.

Initially introduced as a basketball sneaker, the Nike Blazer made a bold impression in 1973, and its notability has continued to grow throughout the years. Since its introduction to the footwear scene, the iconic sneaker model continues to be just as relevant today as it was years ago. It has transcended multiple markets like basketball and skateboarding, and has even joined together with brands in collaborations. The Nike Blazer Mid ‘77 Vintage is a must-have for any sneaker collection, as its premium silhouette is accentuated by its premium leather upper and detailed stitching. Hits of suede are seen at the toe box and along the wides, while the signature Nike Swoosh and printed branding at the heel make a further impression. A woven brand label is placed on the exposed foam tongue. A vulcanized midsole supported by the rubber outsole wraps up the remainder of the look.

One of Nike’s latest arrivals includes the Air Griffey Max 1. This sneaker pays homage to Los Angeles with its premium aesthetic. Nubuck is seen at the upper which pairs seamlessly with the sunset-inspired neoprene gradient at the side panels. A selection of branding is seen throughout the design, with additional detailing making an appearance at the midsoles. Additional iridescent detailing makes a statement at the heel pull tabs and lace tips, both of which are treated with Los Angeles typography. A polyurethane midsole and the full-length Air-Sole unit provide optimal comfort with each step. The ankle strap and rubber outsole underneath finish up the rest of the silhouette.

Another Nike footwear arrival that arrived this season was the Nike x Stüssy Air Max 2013. Introduced in a Black colorway, this exclusive collaboration made an impression with its collaborative branding and futuristic-inspired components. Along with this silhouette was the arrival of the Nike Dunk High ‘Panda.’ All of these silhouettes are available now in-store + online, making them the perfect pair of sneakers for any Nike collection.
