Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Royal Toe' is the latest take on the classic Air Jordan 1 silhouette. After releasing the Court Purple colorway earlier this year, the Jordan Brand is releasing its latest Game Royal colorway to the popular Air Jordan 1 silhouette. The history of the Air Jordan brand starts out near the end of Michael Jordan’s rookie season in 1985. Jordan’s first colorway was the iconic black and red colorway that was later known as the “banned.” The NBA banned these shoes from being worn as they broke the league’s dress code and fined Michael Jordan each game he wore his sneaker. Since this iconic moment, the Air Jordan 1s have become an iconic and staple sneaker to all generations. 

The tradition of the “Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG” really begins back in the early 2000s, where the Air Jordan 1 continued to live on as a modern-day footwear staple. Since then, the silhouette has released in a multitude of colorway options in both men and women. Michael Jordan’s 10-part series, The Last Dance, on ESPN has heightened the excitement of all new Jordan releases and Jordan Brand enthusiasts alike. Episode 5 & 6 of the docu-series highlighted the start of the Air Jordan brand and what has become one of the most iconic and well-known brands in history to date. Jordan goes on in saying that he originally wanted to sign with Adidas, but after taking a meeting with Nike forced by his mother, the Air Jordan brand was born. 

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Royal Toe’ features a premium leather upper of white and dark blue colors accented with black framing panels, ankle collar and Swoosh. The white midsole is paired with a game royal rubber outsole. Additional Jordan branding can be seen with the “wings” on the ankle and “Nike Air” tongue tags. The silhouette also features black laces, matching nylon tongue and sock liner.
