Since Kanye West first came onto the music scene, he has blurred the lines between fashion, music, and footwear. He joined the Adidas repertoire in 2015 with Yeezy, which continued his unexpected foray into fashion footwear. West’s legacy includes his musical excellence, goals, and commitment to pushing the boundaries of fashion and footwear within his Yeezy empire. Kanye West continues to redefine the sneaker industry with each Yeezy release.

The Yeezy Foam Runner made its first subtle appearance on the feet of Kanye West’s daughter North West in 2019. Officially debuted in 2020, the design compares to the construction of Crocs footwear, as it contains no laces or moving parts. Its thick rear makes an impression paired with the plethora of holes throughout the design’s entirety. While also referencing the Yeezy 700, the premium silhouette’s first colorway was released in 2020, ‘Ararat.’ Inspired by the Mount Ararat volcano located in Turkey, this initial colorway set the stage for the Yeezy Foam Runner’s legacy. Since its establishment, the design has been introduced in more colorways, most notably ‘Sand,’ ‘MXT Moon Grey,’ ‘Ochre,’ and ‘Mineral Blue.’

The latest Yeezy Foam Runner arrives in an ‘Onyx’ colorway. Composed of a blend of eco-friendly EVA foam and algae, the futuristic silhouette takes on a monochromatic finish that blends seamlessly within any footwear collection. A sizable amount of breathable holes are placed throughout the design, while the iconic Three Stripe branding is positioned at the heel spotlights additional detailing. The treaded detailing underneath optimizes traction and durability.
