Nike x Off-White Blazer Low ‘77
White/University Red Black/Electro Green
Defined as ‘the grey area between black and white,’ the late Virgil Abloh’s premium streetwear label Off-White has been paving the way for fashion endeavors since its origin in 2013. While appealing to streetwear consumers looking for progressive designs that differentiate themselves from common trends, Off-White maintains itself at the forefront of the fashion industry. With that, Nike's powerhouse athleisure label is another iconic brand that breaks the mold in technology when it comes to designing footwear, apparel, and more. The collision of both Off-White and Nike first arrived in 2017, and the ongoing collaboration has been nothing short of impactful.
The Off-White x Nike collaboration established a new forefront of footwear, as its alignment combined both brands’ distinct aesthetics. The anticipation leading up to each Off-White x Nike design is primarily due to the design’s unique materials, stitching, and signature Off-White motifs placed on classic Nike silhouettes. Each offering from the ongoing collaboration sets a new footwear standard by forming old and new ideas together. It all started with the OG ‘The Ten’ pack, consisting of an Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 1, Air Max 90, Air Presto, Air VaporMax, and Blazer Mid. The second pack titled ‘GHOSTING’ featured an Off-White x Nike Air Max 97, React Hyperdunk, Air Force 1, Zoom Vaporfly, and Converse Chuck Taylor All Star.
Off-White and Nike head into the spring season with a brand new silhouette to place both of their distinctive aesthetics upon. The upcoming release of the Nike x Off-White Blazer Low ‘77 seen in White/University Red and Black/Electro Green spotlights a leather upper with additional leather Swooshes and the heel panels. The design blends many Off-White motifs throughout the exterior, such as the ‘Meteor’ holes that appear across the upper. Off-White text is placed on the medial side panels, while an iconic oFf-White zip-tie attachment makes an additional appearance. This component overlays a zig-zag placed across the sneaker. A unique heel piece is placed at the midsole for further authenticity. Foam at the rear offers additional comfort, while the plastic inserts embody a technical aesthetic. The design is finished with complete canvas overlays paired with a classic exposed foam tongue commonly seen on the iconic Nike Blazer design.
