WTF Happened | DIGABLE PLANETS

4

Ever wonder what happened to those music groups or individuals that were hot for a minute and then never heard from again? As music aficionados here at Feature, we will be having a post every Tuesday consisting of a music individual or group that had an impact in the music culture but didn't seem to keep consistent. In this first edition of "WTF Happened", we check out hip hop group, Digable Planets. From New York City, Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler, Mary Ann "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira and Craig "Doodlebug" Irving, made up Digable Planets. Creating a buzz around the early 1990's with their hit single, "Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like That)" the group hit gold with their debut album, "Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space)". After breaking up multiple times and creating solo work throughout the years, Digable Planets is still broken up. Doodlebug and Butterfly started their own albums and created tours within their realm. Lady Mecca is also working on another solo album and does not want to collaborate with the other two former members.
