ATG Hidden Gems: Halloween Edition

ATG Hidden Gems: Halloween Edition

Haven Neiman

When people think of Las Vegas, The Strip is usually the first to come to mind. But the Las Vegas Valley contains a variety of cultures and communities, such as the off-the-strip gem of Chinatown, where FEATURE was first established over a decade ago. Alongside Chinatown’s plethora of restaurants, bars, and entertainment, Downtown Las Vegas is another component of the Las Vegas Valley that further spotlights Sin City as an iconic location. With that, our ongoing ‘ATG Hidden Gems’ series continues as we highlight local Las Vegas businesses that spotlight our ‘All Things Good’ mantra. Inspired by this year’s Halloween celebrations, celebrate the holiday with our selection of hidden Las Vegas gems.

Sand Dollar Lounge ‘Nightmare on Spring Mountain’

Any horror fan will enjoy the first ATG Hidden Gems spotlight. Located in Chinatown near our debut FEATURE location, the Sand Dollar Lounge is an iconic part of Las Vegas history. The lounge opened its doors in 1976 and is best known for its live entertainment and premium cocktail offerings. For the third year in a row, The Sand Dollar Lounge’s ‘Nightmare on Spring Mountain’ is coming back from the dead for a fully-immersive Halloween experience. The lounge is covered in Halloween decor, and the menu transforms into a one-of-a-kind Halloween-themed cocktail menu. Based on classic songs, each drink is served in Halloween-inspired glassware. Some of the most popular drinks include ‘Tainted Love,’ ‘Witchy Woman,’ and ‘I’m Your Boogieman.’

Nightmare Cafe

While it's the perfect time to explore Halloween-appropriate spots in the Las Vegas Valley, the Nightmare Cafe is a year-round eatery that is perfect for any Halloween fan. This new horror-themed cafe is open for the first time, located in the Arts District of Downtown Las Vegas. The Nightmare Cafe offers breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Vegan and vegetarian options are provided as well. In addition to its food offerings, the Nightmare Cafe also serves up a full bar with horror-themed beverages. Some of the drinks include the ‘Beetlejuice Morgue-Arita,’ ‘Psycho Sour,’ and ‘Bloody Carrie.’ Non-alcoholic beverages like the ‘Shirley’s Haunted Temple’ are also available for purchase.
