Perhaps considered the most popular sub-label of Comme des Garçons, Comme des Garçons PLAY was first introduced in 2002 by Rei Kawakubo. Meaning ‘like boys’ in French, this label questions standard clothing designs while embodying casual aesthetics that appeal to younger generations. As the most popular and sought-out label from Comme des Garçons’ primary diffusion lines such as Comme des Garçons Noir, Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, and Comme des Garçons SHIRT, each offering from Comme des Garçons PLAY spotlights the brand’s iconic bug-eyed red heart motif designed by Polish artist Filip Pagwoski, which is the face of the entire line. Come des Garçons PLAY produces elevated wardrobe essentials with simplistic patterns, not tied to a particular season. The label specializes in minimal unisex garments and sticks to a minimal color palette.

On a summer afternoon in Paris, Leon Claude Duhamel watches from a local café as rain plummets from the sky’s dark clouds. Disgruntled Parisians were rushing by in wet clothes, and he immediately came up with the idea of a lightweight nylon jacket that is fully packable and perfect for every season and style. It was at that moment that the concept for K-Way was born. Designed for all, each jacket from K-Way is windproof and waterproof, allowing you to be worn for everyday wear during unpredictable weather. By combining classic, modern, technological and functional aesthetics, K-Way maintains its own identifiable and unsurpassed products.

“Through Any Weather”

Comme des Garçons PLAY and K-Way collide together with a new capsule range of outerwear. These two jackets are the first of this collaboration, combining elevated aesthetics with functional aspects. The Comme des Garçons PLAY x K-Way Le Vrai 3.0 Leon Jackets are featured in colors such as Beige, Blue, and Orange. Crafted from breathable and waterproof ripstop nylon material, this silhouette also spotlights windproof qualities, while the adjustable elastic cord hood provides practicality. The quarter-zip closure and the pac-a-way zipped pocket contribute to its compact aesthetic. Each jacket is made for a regular fit, while its primary spotlight is the screen-printed K-Way motif at the chest, while the iconic Comme des Garçons PLAY bug-eyed red heart is embroidered at the front and screen-printed at the rear.

The other jacket addition to this new capsule from Comme des Garçons PLAY x K-Way is the Le Vrai Zip Jacket. Seen in Navy, Red, and White, each jacket is crafted from nylon material and embodies waterproof and water repellent qualities. The packable design is credited to its functional aesthetic, while the heat taped seams and adjustable elastic cord hood provide additional technology. Made for a regular fit, this outerwear apparel item perfectly complements both brands’ distinctive and highly prevalent aesthetics, including signature motifs and branding. An embroidered bug-eyed red heart motif is embroidered at the chest, while a screen-printed version can be seen at the rear. A screen-printed K-Way brand logo also appears at the front portion of the chest. The pac-a-way zipped pocket and elastic drawcords at the hem and hood emphasize its functional aesthetic appeal.
