NBA All Star player Russell Westbrook was born and raised in California, and his fashion label Honor The Gift first came to fruition in 2016 by embarking on a fashion project with his hometown roots inspiration in mind. Along with making a name for himself as a notable professional basketball player, Russell Westbrook also established himself in the world of streetwear and fashion by implementing his own eclectic and fearless approach to his style. In 2017 Honor The Gift was officially available to the public, and Westbrook currently acts as the Creative Director of the label. 

Named after his faith, Westbrook believes that everybody is blessed with a gift. To Russell, He wanted the brand to be something meaningful, modern, and simple but still applied his fearless style approach to a set of classic everyday apparel. Each collection is thoughtfully crafted and built out of respect for where he came from and where anybody can take themselves along with their gift. Honor The Gift is a body of work focusing on quality, purpose, and storytelling. The label’s core concepts are applied to the product's construction, resulting in a selection of elevated graphic apparel that has a rich history in mind. Honor The Gift’s latest collection, Inner City Love 2.0, pays homage to Russell Westbrook’s first home in California. It was inspired by the soundtrack that shaped Westbrook’s childhood growing up. In his home, his family played soul records spanning from the 60s to the 80s throughout the house, and this collection taps into the heart of this story, one of sacrifice, commitment, and hardship. This collection embodies the concept of making a house a home with your loved ones while still symbolizing the label’s commitment to honoring one’s gift. The apparel delivery incorporates vintage graphic aesthetics and rich textures, and spiritually-inspired graphics. The apparel has been treated with modern lines and structural patterns. The critical defining trait for Russell as he was going into this collection was to create functional and practical offerings that speak to his community through his take on fashion.

A stand-out apparel item from the Inner City Love 2.0 collection is the Honor The Gift HTG Weathered Crewneck. This silhouette makes a formal statement within any apparel wardrobe. Featuring a complete french terry cotton construction, this comfortable crewneck features a modern aesthetic with a reversed construction. Embroidered branding is placed at the chest, while additional ribbed detailing can be seen at the trims, further accentuating the design’s distinct detailing. Additionally, the Honor The Gift Inner City Love further nods to the label’s inner-city inspiration. This vintage tee features a premium jersey cotton construction for optimal breathability and comfort, along with faded screen-printed branding and phrasing at the front, while the ribbed neckline ties it together. Pants are also incorporated within this latest delivery from Honor The Gift. Honoring the brand’s constant, elevated aesthetics blended within everyday apparel, the Honor The Gift HTG Weathered Sweatpant makes a considerable statement. The silhouette is crafted from complete french terry cotton, which offers an all-day breathable and comfortable experience. The reversed construction makes a statement, as the Honor The Gift embroidered branding appears throughout the front of the silhouette. Premium HTG trims and labels also are placed. The side pockets and a single rear pocket offer a functional finish.
